Nasarawa United’s steady rise to the top

The football has been acknowledged worldwide not only as the king of all games but also as a springboard for creative development and fame to the young ones. Consequently, they have brought glory to many nations.
With this, the game has gain international recognition that other countries and Nigeria is not an exception.

Which was the reason why Nasarawa state government is not left out, as it has cash into the group of states that has invested in the game and fortunately, with positive result that has carve a niche for the state.The Nasarawa United Football Club owned by Nasarawa state government, have in the last few months, become a team to admire by many soccer lovers, made possible by the excellent team work of both players and administrators of the team.

The team has comfortably risen to stardom by dint of hard work of the players who have keyed into the new methods brought into the squad by head coach Baba Ganaru both in their home and away matches.
Nasarawa United has dominated discuss in the Nigerian soccer arena as  they have comfortably maintained their  second position in the league table for 4 weeks running,  without stress or pressure.
Fans both home and abroad have become more tolerable and the reward for their continued support is the progress being recorded, leading to the mammoth crowds that storm the Lafia Township Stadium week, week out.
The ongoing repairs and rehabilitation of some structures is also a boost for the players and supporters alike as most of the obsolete equipment are being replaced to be in tune with new trend in sporting events.

This has assisted the club rise to the challenge, by qualifying to play in the 2014 Confederation Cup with effort of players like Olayinka Abubakar, Paul Danjuma and others whose display of skills and commitment continued to shine in the national league arena.
Aloysius Agu, Arikya Abubakar and other members of the technical crew have shown maturity in handling the team, thus giving the players more motivation to excel and bring glories for the team.
The team technical adviser, Baba Ganaru, regarded as one of the best Nigerian local coaches, has reinvented the team spirit by making the team a family business among the players who see the club as their own.
The enthusiasm of the players and their handlers is moving to top because of the enormous contribution and support they receive through the soccer ambassador and special adviser on sports to the governor, Sila Ali Agara, who has remained resolute in not only bringing fame to both the female team, the Amazons and the Nasarawa United but also to the entire state.
Agara has work tirelessly to ensure that the boys had all they need to bring results, and take the club to the highest mountains of soccer in the country and beyond.

The Soccer Guru, as the adviser is fondly called, has also ensured that the players are paid the enhanced salary package as at when due and prompt release of funds for weekly league matches.
The award of the ongoing rehabilitation of the stadium at a whooping   cost of N88m was part of his initiative to place the state on the map of sports across the country.
The contract includes the re-modelling of the VIP stand, extension of popular site and laying of tartan tracks of international standard at the stadium.
In other to boast the team and ensure continuity, the state government equally has provided the team with a 32-seater bus and official vehicle to the technical adviser Baba Ganaru.
The state also sponsored the female team that got several medals for the state which included silver at the last Women FA Cup Final and qualification to play in the women category of the Premier League.
