Nasarawa revokes Gitata/Panda/Gurku road contract

Lafi a Nasarawa state government has revoked the 60km contract for the construction of Gitata/Panda/ Gurku roads project in Karu local government area of the state. Governor Umaru Tanko AlMakura disclosed this at the offi cial installation and the presentation of 2nd Class Staff of Offi ce to Mr. Christopher Jatau, the Uehra Ashea of Kube Chiefdom in Kube, Panda development area of the state. He said the state government revoked the roads contract following the inability of the contractor to complete the work according to specifi cation after being paid N3.6 billion by his administration. “When I came on board, I met with the contractor that is handling the road project on the need for him to return to work and I can tell you in my honour that this administration in 2012/2013 paid the contractor a total of N3.6billion “For the purpose of returning to work, up till this point, the work has not be done and I want to assure the people of Panda that, it is not government making that this project has stopped,” he said.
