Nasarawa lawmaker to provide boreholes for communities

A member of Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Hashim Gurku has concluded plans to drill water boreholes for some communities within his constituency.
According to the member, who represents Karu/Gitata constituency of the state, the gesture is in fulfillment of his campaign promises to his constituents.
He explained in a short statement that the benefiting communities include Gurku, Panda, Kare, Koso, Kugwaru, Kabusu and Gitata, noting that feasibility studies for the projects would be carried out next week, after which the earth work will immediately commence.
The lawmaker however called on the people to avoid inflammatory remarks capable of heating up the polity.
“I want to appeal to the people of my constituency and citizens of Nasarawa state to continue to support the APC-led administration in the state, and accord their maximum co operation to the state governor, Umar Tanko Almakura, in his untiring efforts to better their living standard,” he said.
He reiterated the need to ensure that peace reigns across the state, stressing that no meaningful development could take place without peace and mutual understanding.
