Nasarawa First Lady drums support for Renewed Hope Initiative

The Nasarawa state first Lady Silifat Abdullahi Sule, has encouraged government officials particularly women on the introduction of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative to replicate the programme at the local levels.

She stated this on Saturday, during a sensitisation meeting with wives of local government chairmen at the government House in Lafia.

Mrs. Sule explained that the Initiative aimed at promoting social investment, education, health, empowerment and agriculture at the grassroots level, will improve on the lives and livelihood of poor Nigerian women and children.

“It is a charity based initiative, a pet project of the First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu targeted at providing succour and relief to vulnerable women and girls in Nigeria,” she said.

She tasked the women to propagate the elimination of women domination in the society, suggesting that appreciable percent should be allocated to women to hive a sigh of relief in all activities of government.

Mrs. Sule promised to carry the women along in executing government’s policies and programmes that have direct socio-economic impacts on the lives of the vulnerable.

While canvassing support on the Renewed Hope Agenda through the wives of the local government chairmen and overseers across the state, Sule sought that efforts be intensified to independently entrench the mantra of Renewed Hope to influence the priority areas of the federal government.

In their remarks, state commissioner for women affairs and social development, Aisha Rufai Ibrahim, and the leader of the delegation, Zainab Aminu Maifata, pledged to support the initiative to succeed.
