Nasarawa emirate chief imam dies at 93 

Nasarawa Emirate Council in Nasarawa local government area of Nasarawa state has with heavy heart and deep sorrow announced the passing on of Sheikh Malam Aliyu Abdullahi, a prominent personality, who was also the emirate council member.

In a statement issued Monday and made available to newsmen by Dr Idris Mohammed Loko, the secretary of the emirate council, said the late Imam’s funeral prayer was led by the Emir of Nasarawa, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibrin, according to the Muslim rites and was laid to rest at the Nasarawa burial ground. 

The statement added that the funeral prayer was attended by  distinguished  traditional rulers, Quranic Arabic and  Islamic clerics, lecturers, tutors, scholars and former governor of Nasarawa state and Minister of Housing,  who is also a onetime national chairman of  the  APC ruling party, Senator  Abdullahi Adamu Kokona. 

Others include top government officials and delegations from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Jos and Lafia,  as well as members of the national  and state assemblies.
