Nasarawa assembly swears in PDP member

The Speaker Nasaràwa State House, Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau, Tuesday, sworn in a PDP member-elect of Umaisha/Ugya constitency, Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa’ad, following the judgment of Appeal Court Abuja, that sacked the former speaker Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi.

The Speaker while congratulating Hon. Sa’ad, urged him to give the House maximum cooperation to succeed as one united family.

“I want to congratulate you as member representing Umaisha/ Ugya constitency as leadership comes from God.

“I want to advise you to give the House your maximum support as we are united in this House irrespective of our political parties,” he said.

The speaker, then announced Hon. Sa’ad as chairman, House committee on Capital Market, member House committee on women affairs as well as committee on rules and business.

Meanwhile, the house also directed Hon. Musa Abubakar Ibrahim, member representing Doma South constituency to resume plenary.

The house said that, his seat was declared vacant in error made on 1st December 2023 by the House following the verdict of Appeal Court which ordered re-run in one polling unit of Doma South constituency.

Speaker of the House urged Hon. Musa to resume his legislative duties in order to represent his constituency and contribute positively to the development of the state.

“The seat of Hon. Musa Abubakar Ibrahim was declared vacant in error by our acting speaker during our sitting on December 1st, 2023.

“The House is not in receipt of any communication that will stop Hon. Musa from performing his legislative duties.

“I hereby direct Hon. Musa to return to the House to continue with his duties,”  the speaker said.
