Nasarawa assembly passes N199.9bn 2024 appropriation bill 

The Nasarawa state House of Assembly has passed the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N199.9 presented by Governor Abdullahi Sule into law.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, announced the passage of the bill into law during the House proceedings, Wednesday, in Lafia.

He said the budget, when assented to by the governor, would promote  economic growth and development in the state.

The sum of N117, 138, 350, 954.18 was voted as recurrent expenditure while N82, 741, 019, 755.25 was capital expenditure.

Jatau appreciated members for their determination and commitment to ensuring the speedy passage of the 2024 appropriation  bill into law.

The speaker equally urged the state government to ensure full implementation of the budget, when assented to by the governor, stressing: “We have done the needful; I hope that the executive will also do the needful.”

He then directed the Clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the bill for governor Sule’s assent.

Earlier, Hon Suleiman Yakubu Azara, the Majority Leader had moved the motion for the passage of the bill and was seconded by Hon. Luka Iliya Zhekaba, the Minority Leader.
