Nasarawa: Adhere to export best practices, NEPC tells entrepreneurs

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has called on the small and medium enterprises operating in Nasarawa state to seek expert guide on export best practices.

State Acting Coordinator Lafia Smart Office, Mallam Aliyu Osana Orji, represented by Dr. Daniel Itodo, made the call at a one day sensitisation workshop on standard packaging and labeling of products for international market in Lafia, Wednesday.

He explained that the workshop was aimed at creating awareness among exporters in the state on the ways to package products for export.

Mallam Aliyu O. Orji said one of the cardinal objectives of NEPC was to develop and promote the non-oil sector of the nation’s economy by always strategising to develop the export community that will foster diversity.

In a goodwill message, the Director Trade Nasarawa State Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment, Ahmed Otaki Agbo, thanked NEPC for organising the workshop, which targeted the business community in the state.

He assured the participants of the state government’s readiness to support them in their efforts to showcase products for global marketing.

Paper presentations by guest speakers highlighted the best ways of packaging and labelling of products that will be accepted at the international market to improve their economic base for the state and the nation at large.

Participants, who were drawn from the 13 local government areas of the state, appreciated NEPC for organising the workshop that would impact on their businesses.
