NAPRI boss charges kogi youth on agriculture

The executive director,  National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI) Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Professor C.A . Lokpini has charged unemployed youth in the country to think outside the box especially in the area of business and agriculture in order to engage themselves meaningfully rather than waiting endlessly for government jobs that are not forthcoming.

Lokpini gave the charge on Saturday at Mack Farm in Kogi state during a two day training and empowerment of unemployed youth and women in poultry production organised by Hon. Tijani Damisa the lawmaker representing Okene/Ogori Mango federal constituency in collaboration with federal ministry of agriculture and rural development, NAPRI and Triple ICON Nig. Limited.

Professor Lokpini who was represented at the occasion by Dr Joshua Tanko an Assistant Director extension and linkages NAPRI,  said : “Agriculture has a wide range of opportunities. You can produce, process and market.

“Youth in the country should zero their mind and forget government job and start business no matter how small. If you start your business, you monitor it and run it well you will live a better live than somebody that wait for thirty or thirty five days before taking salary.

“I am imploring the participants to take the training serious so that your performance can spur the lawmaker to do more for other people who are also waiting for this type of opportunity”.

Hon. Damisa who was represented by Engr Abdulazeez Sadiq urged the participants to take the advantage of the programme to better their lives, assuring that he will compensate any serious participant who performs creditably at the end of the training.
