Naira policy: Kwara SDP senatorial candidate makes case for rural communities

The Kwara south Social Democratic Party (SDP) senatorial candidate, Professor Wale Sulaiman, has appealed to the Central Bak of Nigeria (CBN) to consider people in the rural areas in the implementation of its policy on new naira notes.

The Neurosurgeon who declared his support for the CBN fiscal initiative, stated that “CBN policy on the naira is Nigerian- centric. It would add value to our currency and make us to be more productive.”

He also advocated local government autonomy and more powers to traditional rulers to enable them tackle security at the grassroots.

Suleiman spoke at the 2022 Ajase- Ipo Day held in Irepodun local government area of the state.

The frontline senatorial contender decried large- scale under development of Kwara south is traceable to bad representation, poor leadership recruitment, people – fearing rather than God- fearing representation, dominant self- centred agenda and absolute lack of vision.

“My people are tired of representation that had failed to demonstrate what they are doing for our people to create jobs, provide good health, infrastructure and functional free education,” he said.

He vowed to create jobs and uplift his constituents if given the mandate in 2023.

“I have the expertise to attract jobs, workable healthcare, education and alleviate poverty which has become endemic in Kwara south,” Sulaiman said.
