Nigerian Air Force has denied media report of impending retirement ofits Air Vice Marshal and Commodores.
A statement by the Director of Naval Information, Comdr. AyodeleFamuwiya, said “ the attention of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has beendrawn to the publication on pages 1-2 of New Telegraph newspaper ofMonday, June 13, 2016, titled: “Arm Scandal: Air Force to retire AVMs, Commodores.”
He said the publication alleged that the NAF was on the verge of retiring a number of senior officers connected with the ongoing investigation of arms purchase under the immediate past administration.
However, he said: “It is pertinent to state that this story is unfounded and did not emanate from the NAF. The Press is, therefore, please advised to always confirm their story with the NAF before publication.”
