NACA, SURE-P offer free medical test in Kumbotso LG

The National Action Committee on Aids (NACA),  in collaboration with Subsidy Re-investment Progamme (SURE-P) have expressed its readiness to offer free medical test on various ailments to the people of Kumbotso local government area of Kano state.

Speaking with traditional rulers in the area, an official with the department of Public Health, Malam Kassim B. Manzo, said the exercise was planned to be carried out at three designated centres, which include Panshekara, Chiranchi and Mariri, saying SURE-P was responsible for bankrolling the programme.

According to him, people suffering from undisclosed ailment are at a liberty to consult the doctors assigned to carry out the test and referred those with complicated disease to the most appropriate medical centre for proper diagnosis and cure.

He, however, stated that NACA would be responsible for both the test and the drugs, which is free of charge, adding

that the SURE-P would be responsible for funding the exercise.
Also speaking, the district head of Kumbotso,  Alhaji Ahamad Ado Bayero, described the laudable gesture as a welcomed development, stressing that it had come at a time when people were in need of medical assistance.

Bayero, who was represented by  Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim, however, stated that the free medical services to be offered by NACA was an initiative they accepted in good faith and pledged to cooperate with any donor agency willing to offer similar assistance.
