The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Mrs. Nenadi Esther Usman, has said that her re-election will be simple as ‘ABCD’ because she had performed in the Senate and majority of the people in the zone were happy with her.
Addressing journalists in Kaduna during a briefing with members of Correspondence Chapel of Kaduna state council of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), the lawmaker said peace was paramount and shouldn’t be compromised.
She said: “We as a matter of policy must make up our minds that we want to live in peace with one another, because we shouldn’t rely on the military to come and force us to live in peace with one another. We shouldn’t do that irrespective of tribes and religion.
“We must make a conscious effort to live peacefully, I always tell people that I am a Christian, my husband is a Muslim. And I remained a Christian while my husband remained a Muslim and I know there are people who kept criticising him that ‘how can you marry a wife and you have not force her or told her to become a Muslim but he is okay with it. Today, I am even a pastor in the Church and I think that is how we should live.”
Appealing for peace in Southern Kaduna, she said “we should try to look at ourselves as our brothers’ keeper, let’s try to make sure that we live in peace with one another.”
