Mustapha Sule Lamido mourns former Jigawa Speaker


Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart and son of the former Jigawa state governor Sule Lamido, Mustapha Sule Lamido, has mourned the former Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Adamu Ahmed Sarawa, who died at the early hours of Tuesday after a protracted illness.


Mustapha, who was the PDP candidate of the Jigawa Central Senatorial district in the 2019 general election, described the death of Sarawa as a great loss not only to his immediate families but to the PDP and the entire state.


In a statement issued to journalists, Mustapha said he received with grieving heart, the shocking news of the demise of Hon. Ahmed Sarawa.


“I received with grieving heart, the shocking news of the demise of Rt. Hon. Adamu Ahmed Sarawa (Atmos), former Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly who died at the wee hours of today after a protracted illness.


“His death is a great loss to all of us and it has created a vacuum not only to his immediate families but to the entire people of Jigawa State.


“Indeed, he’ll be remembered for his honesty, patience, and perseverance as some of his attributes. He was such a rare politician whose words can be taken to a river.


“He left an indelible mark of uncommon leadership in the Jigawa State House of Assembly as the former Speaker. While for us in the PDP family, we’ve lost a symbol of an unswerving political loyalty.” The statement reads.


He further prayed Allah (S.W.T) to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdausi and give his beloved families the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
