Musa vows to improve at Leicester

Musa arrived at Leicester from CSKA Moscow for a fee of €19m last season but failed to replicate his form, scoring just four goals in 32 games in all competitions for the Foxes. In 2015/16 season with CSKA Moscow where he won three Russian Premier League titles, one Russian Cup and two Russian Super Cup titles, Musa scored 18 goals in 44 games. But this past season, (2016/17 season) the Nigerian international and former captain of the Super Eagles came in for criticism over his lack-lustre performances with the dethroned English Premier League champions.

Leicester City won the EPL title in the 2015/16 season but fi nished 12th last season after fl irting with relegation. “I know I have to work hard to get back in the starting line-up,” Musa told Completesportsnigeria. com. “My fi rst season didn’t go as well as I expected but this season will be better for me.” He also insisted that Super Eagles will bounce back from their loss to South Africa in a 2019 AFCON qualifi er. “We have what it takes to banish that defeat and I believe that we will win our next game,” Musa added. Th e Super Eagles face Cameroon in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying double header in September.
