MTN donates mobile clinic in Taraba

Acting governor of Taraba sate, Alhaji Garbna Umar UTC, has said that his administration is committed to giving quality health care to the people of the state.

Acting governor Umar stated this today in Jalingo, the state capital, when he received the MTN yellow doctor Mobile Clinic, saying that it was out of the commitment that the state government hastened to commission a General Hospital on Takum.

He added that in no distant time, the administration would complete the construction of a general hospital in Lissam Ussa local government area and by that all 16 local government headquarters would have access to secondary healthcare centre.
On the Yello Doctor scheme, the acting governor promised the commitment of the state government to ensuring the success of the scheme in the state and beyond the agreed one year.

In his speech, the Commissioner for Health, Mr. Oliver Wubong, said the development by Yello Doctor was a welcome one since government alone “cannot provide for the health needs of the people.”
Speaking on behalf of MTN Foundation, the senior manager, government relations, Austin Iyasere, said the project was aimed at providing primary health care interventions such as maternal and child health services.
