The Muslim Sisters Organisation of Nigeria (MSO) Yobe state chapter has trained security agencies including Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and vigilantes on Gender Based Violence (GBV).
The project coordinator Yusuf Imam Kagara, said MSO is one organisations at the forefront campaigning against GBV with training and retraining of stakeholders on various aspect of the menace.
He gave an overview of the subject matter, outlining the purpose and objective of the training exercise.
“After Yobe state government signed the vapp bill into law in 2022, NGOs and activists and legal practitioners are now using this legal instrument to fight GBV in all ramifications.
“This training session is specifically conducted for security actors and local security workers,” he said.
Yusuf said this is the more reason for continuous training of relevant stakeholders in the flight against GBV to sharpen their minds so as to explore and exploits every aspect of the law fight the rising cases of GBV.
