Moulud Nabiyyi: Scholar admonishes parents on children training

An Islamic scholar Sheikh Musa Onogu has admonished parents to prioritise the training of their children and wards in a Godly way in order to enjoy God’s favour on this earth and hereafter.

Sheikh Onogu gave the charge on Sunday evening during Idrisiyya 2023 Moulud Nabiyyi cerebration organised by Idrisiyya School of Arabic and Islamic Studies Idukoko, Okene in Okene local government area of Kogi state.

According to him, the society today has turned upside down due to total abandonment of family responsibilities by some  fathers who are heads of the families.

He lamented that many husbands shy away from their responsibility of training and  feeding their children, saying these were reasons why many children today especially the female folk become wayward while the males turn themselves into drug addicts due to lack of parental care.

“Our young men who have married should endeavour to fulfil their responsibilities especially in the areas of feeding, clothing, medical health care, payment of school fees among other needs of the family.

“To avoid throwing away God’s blessing in our lives, we should try as much as possible to engage on activities that will bring legitimate money to train our children in a Godly way,” he said.

While advising wives to be subservient to their husbands no matter the economic situation, the Islamic scholar also enjoined children to accord respect to their parents in order for them to gain God’s favour in this earth and hereafter.

“Wives should continue what God says they should do to their husbands and desist from inciting their children against their fathers” he said.

Ustaz Mohammed Jamiu, who spoke on the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), said a society where there is no elders such society is doomed forever and urged elders to always a mirror image of the prophet in the society.

“Muslim should at all time emulate the deeds of the prophet to enable them enjoy God’s favour. Muslims should imbibe endurance, honesty, sincerity and love which are  attributes of the holy Prophet of Islam,” he said.
