MOSIEND urges ministerial appointment for Wike

The Movement For the Survival of lzon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta Region (MOSIEND) has appealed to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to appoint Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state as a minister in his cabinet.

MOSIEND’s president, Kennedy West, made the appeal in an interview with journalists Friday in Port Harcourt.

He said the appointment of Wike into his cabinet would usher in national unity taking into cognisance the strategic position of Rivers state in the country.

“I call on the president-elect to kindly consider and appoint Governor Nyesom Wike as Minister of Transportation or Works in his cabinet,” he said.

West said appointing Wike into Tinubu’s cabinet would add tremendous value to the in-coming administration “as he needs no introduction in the Nigerian polity.”

He equally urged Tinubu to consider the deft political calculation and structure put in place by Wike that gave him (Tinubu) victory.

“Rivers state deserves two ministerial slots in addition to other appointments as it’s the only state in the Niger Delta to deliver the president-elect through the directives and instrumentality of Governor Nyesom Wike.”

According to him, Wike’s performance in infrastructure development across the state is impressive and capable of earning him a ministerial slot.

“Allotting two slots of appointment to Rivers state will serve as a mark of appreciation for supporting him (Tinubu) to victory in the 2023 presidential election in the state.”
