Mopol truck breaks man’s leg in Jos

Page-7-pixA man was yesterday evening hit by a Mercedez Benz 911 truck belonging to the Mobile Police Force (MOPOL) in Jos and the truck ran away.

The incident happened in the city centre along Jos-Bauchi road close to Sunlight / Brightext House near the Terminus junction.
The truck driver, said to be conveying his colleagues and their belongings, was reportedly driving on the wrong way towards the burnt Jos main market.

Our correspondent, who was close to the scene of the incident, reports that after the man was hit, the truck driver did not stop.
The victim, Malam Isyaku Sabon Layi, who spoke to Blueprint, said he sustained fracture on his left leg.

He said: “I was standing on the side of the road when I saw the truck coming from Bauchi road, and the driver was coming from the one wrong way, and because it was a One Way, I did not expect any car from that direction. But I suddenly saw the truck speeding towards me and it hit me before I could make a dash off the road.
