Monarch hails Army for promoting subject

The Igwe-elect of Amanuke Kingdom, Awka North local government area of Anambra state, Igwe Dennis Ezebuilo, has commended the Nigerian Army for promoting his kinsman, Charles Ekulide to the rank of Brigadier General.
In a statement yesterday in Abuja, the traditional ruler, who doubles as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prince Eze Uba Agencies Nigeria Ltd, Abuja, said Ekulide was the first person to attain the highest in the Nigerian Army in his kingdom, adding that his subject remained a worthy son of Amanuke Kingdom.
Ezebuilo said that the promotion would further help the people of his kingdom to repose their confidence in the Nigerian Army.
“The people of Amanuke Kingdom appreciate the Nigerian military for counting one of our own worthy of the rank of a Brig-Gen,” he said, the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari for his transparency and anti-corruption drive, adding that the enabling environment created by the President made such a feat possible.
The traditional ruler said that Brig-Gen Ekulide and his entire family had been of tremendous help to the community, adding that the military officer had been contributing a lot to the community in the area of security.
Ezebuilo said that Brig-Gen Ekulide was also in the vanguard of promoting peace and harmonious relationship in the community and that he had also impacted on the lives of the people of the community.
It could be recalled that the Nigerian Army Council on November 20 promoted 45 senior officers from the rank of Brigadiers General to the rank of Majors General.
Also, the council elevated 92 officers from the rank of Colonels to Brigadiers General, bringing a total of officers promoted to 137.
Those elevated to the rank of One Star Generals (Brigadiers General) include Colonel COC Ekulide of Defence Headquarters, Colonel SOF Olowolayemo, Colonel JTE Chukwu among others.
