Miyetti Allah hails Niger for employing 70 Fulani youths

A Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has
commended the Niger state government for employing 70
Fulani youths and herdsmen into the state and federal government
services.
The group, in a statement issued by its North Central Chairman, Alhaji
Idris Gidado, noted that the efforts of Niger state government to
engage Fulani youths “is quite commendable,” adding that Miyetti Allah
Kautal Hore would continue to cooperate with the state government for
peaceful co-existence.
The group called on other state governments to emulate the gesture
displaced by the Niger state government in order to curtail the incessant
clashes between Fulani herders and farmers.
It would be recalled that the Director-General, Nomadic Affairs,
Niger state, Alhaji Abdullahi Babayo, stated that the state had taken
deliberate steps aimed at moving the educated Fulani youths with
degrees and certificates out of criminal activities to serve as models
to other herdsmen.
