The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Maina, has assured of commitment towards actualising the President Goodluck Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda.
She made the pledge in Abuja while commissioning four newly acquired buses to ease transportation challenges of junior and middle cadre staff of the Ministry.
The minister said the gesture was in order to fulfill the promises made to the Joint Staff Unions to encourage staff of the ministry through the provision of buses, welfare packages and other incentives.

She said: “As you are very much aware, our mandate requires us to address the issues and concerns of over 70 per cent of our country’s population, which includes, women, children, persons with disabilities and the aged, amongst others.
“I, therefore, charge you to work harder and support all efforts aimed at achieving the target set by the present administration under the Transformation Agenda, especially as they relate to Gender and Social Development sub-Sectors.”
Responding, on behalf of the Joint Unions, the chairman of the Nigerian Civil Service Union in the ministry, Comrade Benson Linus, thanked President Goodluck Jonathan, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Bukar Goni Aji, and the minister for the gesture.
