Minister urges northern parents to indulge children in child education

Minister of state for Science and Technology, Mohammed Abdullahi,

has called on  stakeholders and parents from the north to encourage their wards to receive more education especially in the area of science for the development of the nation.

Abdullahi stated this when a group of Mararaba political forum, of Karu local government of Nassarawa state, paid him a courtesy visit Tuesday in Abuja.

He  emphasised the need to embrace science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

“I appeal to you all to pay attention to your kids to have quality education, especially in the area of sciences. I will emphasise on STEM because it is the future of the world. We all know that technology drives every aspect of humanity, like economy, military operations, health, education and so many others, for the benefit of growth.

“We move in cars, planes, bikes, etc. constructed by scientists due to education. To meet the foreign standard, we will have to collectively push them at the level of our capacity to boost their knowledge because today’s education is the key,” the minister  stated.

He appealed to the group to avoid depriving their children of education, adding that every area of discipline is very important because it will help support the growth of the nation, especially in science.

Abdullahi assured them of his support to keep the work of his predecessors alive and for his generations to become proud of him.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the chairman of the group, Alhaji Usman Umar Baza lauded the minister for his good job to the people of Nassarawa state and for his relentless push as a leader, putting both the privileged and less privileged at the forefront of his affairs.
