.The Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, Tuesday urged Nigerian youth to prioritise actionable steps over extended discussions if they want to take their rightful place in governance and contribute meaningfully to national development.
He stated this in Abuja during a courtesy visit by representatives of various youth organizations, including the Northern Youth Leaders Forum, Progressive Young Women Forum, United Nations Food System Youth Cohort, UNIMI Foundation, and National Honours Award Winners, led by their presidents.
A press statement signed by the director of Information and Public Relations of the ministry, Omolara Esan, quoted the minister as saying that the cooperation of Nigerian youth is crucial in ensuring that the efforts of this administration positively impact the youth of this country.
“The era of talking without action is over. My office remains open to your contributions as we collectively work to take Nigerian youth to the next level.”
He reminded the youth leaders that while not everyone can hold public office, those appointed should be fully supported to succeed, rather than being subjected to unnecessary criticism.
Speaking on behalf of the youth organisations, the president of the Northern Youth Leaders Forum, Comrade Muritala Mohammed Garba, pledged the commitment of youth groups to working with the minister, describing him as a youthful and approachable leader.
