Minister launches climate change policy in Kaduna 

The Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has joined the Governor of Kaduna State and stakeholders to launch the Kaduna State Climate Change Policy and Position Statement. 

This landmark event, which was held at Yar’adua Indoor Sports Hall, signifies a critical step in the collective efforts to combat climate change and promote sustainable development.

The minister commended the governor, Uba Sani for his dedication to environmental sustainability and highlighted the adverse impacts of climate change on our ecosystems and economies. 

He emphasized the need for a multi-stakeholder approach, involving government agencies, the private sector, academia, and civil society organizations, to drive sustainable solutions.

Sani also outlined the Federal Ministry of Environment’s commitment to supporting Kaduna State through technical assistance, capacity building, and facilitating access to climate finance. 

He urged all stakeholders to embrace and support the new policy, setting a powerful example for other states in Nigeria and beyond.

“We can achieve our shared climate objectives and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come,” he stressed.
