Minister gives Chinese PM honorary Abuja citizenship

Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Sen. Bala Mohammed, has awarded the Premier of People’s Republic of China, Li Keqiang, with honorary Abuja citizenship.
Mohammed, who received Premier Keqiang on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan upon his arrival to the country for the World Economic Forum, presented him with the key to the city, which confers on him the honorary citizenship.

The minister remarked that the key also conferred on the Premier all the rights and privileges of a full-fledged citizen as a mark of respect for the strong friendship and cordial relationship between the People’s Republic of China and Nigeria.
Senator Mohammed officially welcomed the Premier to Abuja, and wished him a memorable stay as a citizen.
Those who accompanied the FCT minister to receive him include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, as well as other diplomats from Nigeria and China.
