Military kills 3 bandits, kidnappers in Kaduna

In continuation of the clearance operations against  livestock rustlers, armed bandits and other criminal elements in its area of operations, troops of 11 Field Engineer Regiment, 1 Division Nigerian Army, have killed three armed bandits and kidnappers in Anchau in Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
The troops also arrested suspected electricity cable vandal, based on information from the vigilante group in the area, according to the Army spokesperson, Col Sani Kukasheka Usman, in a statement.
He said while some bandits escaped with gunshot wounds, the troops recovered 15 Dane guns, six  locally fabricated pistols, one torchlight pistol, three empty cartridge cases and 52 empty shells of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition from the criminals.

“Similarly, following a tip off from some well-meaning and patriotic citizens on the activities of a suspected electric cable vandal named Nazir Kazeem of Dankama village, Kaita LGA, Katsina State, troops stormed the area and arrested the suspect on the act, while 2 of his accomplices escaped,” the army spokesperson said.
He also said that  troops of 223 Battalion, 1 Brigade of 1 Division, Nigerian Army, killed one armed bandit and injuring few others, during raid and clearance operations in Tofa forest, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The activity was in continuation of clearance operation of all suspected livestock rustlers and armed bandits camps and hideouts in the Northwest by the military.
During the operation in Tofa forest, the troops recovered one Dane gun, two locally made pistols and four Motorcycles from the bandits.The bandits camps were destroyed in line with established procedure.

The troops also went on a long-range patrol along Dumburum-Batsari forest axis in Zurmi Local Government Area, Zamfara State, and some part of Katsina State.
During the patrol they discovered and destroyed several cattle rustlers and armed bandits’ camps, after an encounter with the bandits in the area. The troops killed one bandit, while others fled on motorcycles. The troops, however, recovered three locally made pistols, from the bandits.
Thereafter, the patrol team proceeded to Batsari in Katsina State and linked up with troops of 35 Battalion of 3 Brigade, Nigerian Army, and cleared several bandits camps within the area.
The troops in conjunction with Nigeria Police in the area recovered a stolen Mercedes Benz car model E200 with registration number Lagos CW 504 LND from one Gambo Ibrahim of Kubacha town, that was stolen at New Karu, Nasarawa State.
As this was taken place Batsarui in Kastsana State, troops at Anchau in Kaduna State pursued a notorious armed bandit named Danladi Tasha Adamu along Kargi District. Though the bandit escaped, the troops recovered seven rustled cattle, which were handed over to officials of Kubau Local Government Council.
