Management of Dutse Micro finance bank has disbursed over N85 million loan to farmers within the Dutse emirate council.
Managing Director of the bank, Alhaji Safiyanu Sulaiman, said while fielding questions from journalists yesterday in Dutse, the state capital, that the loan was given to farmers working under the Dutse Emirate Council and other farmers in the area.

He further stated that the gesture was part of the bank’s effort to assist farmers in the Emirate, adding that it was also to encourage and enhance agricultural activities among people in the area.
Sulaiman explained that over 1,300 district heads, village heads, ward heads and other farmers benefitted immensely from the exercise.

He said those who were salary earners amongst the beneficiaries would pay back the loan between 10 and12 months, while others would pay between five and seven months after the sale of their farm produce.
He said the bank had disbursed the sum of 95 million in 2014 to farmers in the area.
“The bank has been supporting farmers with loan in the area for the past 11 years; we started with N300 million in 2004.”
