Governor-elect of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has inaugurated the 63-member Transition Committee saddled with the task of ensuring a smooth transition of power on May, 29, 2015.
Speaking shortly after inaugurating the Committee, Ganduje said the business of handing over power by the incumbent governor to the newly elected one “is purely a family affair since the outgoing governor and the incoming one both belong to one political party.”

According to him, all the sub- Committees are expected to submit their recommendations within the three weeks stipulated time frame and charged members of the Committee to strictly abide by its terms of reference.
He said the Committee was also saddled with the task of taking a stock of all the existing projects completed by theKwankwaso administration in the last four years and equally document the ongoing ones.

He said members of the transition Committee were carefully selected on merit knowing that they are all equal to the task adding that achieving a smooth transition is the major cardinal thrust of the Kwankwaso administration.
Re-affirming the resolve of the state government to ensure that no stone was left unturned in lending credence to the democratic system in the country, the governor-elect said he had reposed much confidence in Professor Hafiz Abubakar, who was appointed to head the Committee based on his track record of excellence.
