Mawlid al-Nabi: Ododo promises equity, fairness in Kogi governance

As Muslims cerebrate Mawlid al-Nabi, Kogi state governor, Ahmed  Usman Ododo has assured that his administration would  build a state  where equity, fairness and constitutionalism are upheld for the benefit of the citizens.

The governor stated this in his goodwill message to Muslims  and the entire people of the Ssate in commemoration of the birth of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him).

According to him, as Muslims in the state and all over the world cerebrate the 2024 Mawlid al-Nabi,  his administration is poised  to use the occasion as source of strength devoid of  division, discrimination and  marginalization to build  a State where Kogi citizens irrespective of tribe and religion   are  empowered mentally to appreciate the place of unity and the strength inherent in the defense and empowerment of the weak.

“On Eid-Ul-Mawlid we celebrate the birth of a man whose exemplary life and faith have led billions to piety over many centuries and whose teachings continue to inspire the world to place great value on peace, compassion and justice, creating a well of humanity.

“In Kogi State, we are proud of our rich diversity of tribes, religions, gender, age and physical abilities and we are determined to make this great endowment a source of strength – not division, discrimination or marginalization.

“Our administration is building a state where everyone is empowered mentally to appreciate the place of unity and the strength inherent in the defense and empowerment of the weak.

“I therefore invite you all to continue to give our administration, an unflinching support as we rededicate  ourselves to building a Kogi state where equity, fairness and constitutionalism are upheld, and where every citizen, regardless of age, creed or tribe is empowered and given a sense of inclusion,” Governor Ododo said.

While calling for special prayers for President Bola Tinubu to enable him pilot the affairs of the nation through the  Renewed Hope Agenda, Governor Ododo said also seek for  prayers in order to continue to serve the State  selflessly with great dedication to the  welfare and well-being of the people.
