The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, on Friday launched the distribution of 7, 000 bags of rice to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara state.
Handing over the commodity to the party executives in Gusau, the state capital, the minister said the rice was a personal donation from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He urged the party members to continue to pray for the return of peace in the state as the federal government under President Tinubu was taking the necessary steps in tackling the menace of banditry and other criminal activities in the state and the entire North-west region.
Matawalle, who was represented by the state chairman of the party, Tukur Umar Danfulani, said the gesture was to appreciate the APC leadership in the state for their hard work, dedication, and loyalty.
“Despite the fact that the party is not in control of Zamfara state, its members are looking good, better than the members of the ruling party in the state because their appearance shows a sign of good living,” he said.
He called for continued understanding and tolerance among the party members at all levels for the purpose of having one party with one voice in the state.
Receiving the commodity on behalf of the party members, the state secretary of the party, Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, expressed appreciation to the president for the gesture.
