The Zamfara state governor, Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun), Thursday, felicitated with Muslim Ummah in the state on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha celebrations.
His media aide, Malam Zailani Bappa, in a statement quoted Governor Matawalle as describing the occasion as a time that marks another important period of the Islamic calendar where Allah has opened another floodgate of mercy for his servants and an opportunity we must all grab.
“As we mark the bountiful Arafat day, and subsequent day to mark this year’s eid, we must reflect on all the happenings in our dear state so that we can use this time to put our priorities right for the next year ahead of us.
“We are faced with challenges of insecurity and other life threatening challenges in our society. As we fast tomorrow, we must not relent in supplicating to the Almighty to ease our hardship and bring the end of our sufferings.
“This message must reach our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land to equally supplicate for our redemption as they stand tomorrow on the mount of Arafat.
“I also call on all and sundry at home to observe this period peacefully and within the confines of the law. It is our duty as Muslims to show good example and share good habits in every way we can.
“While I wish everyone a momentous occasion, I want to assure you that my administration will continue to do everything possible to serve the state better,” Matawalle said.
