Touched by the incessant raping, kidnapping and other criminal activities being carried out by some daredevils working in the name of fighting for Biafra agitation in some communities in Enugu state, a pro-Biafra group, Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has cried out saying that such elements are common criminals, but not freedom fighters.
Enugu state coordinator of MASSOB, Comrade Daniel Onyebuchi, who made the condemnation in a statement, blamed the South east governments to have failed to engage the youth with adequate job opportunities, noting that it is what prompts youth to engage in nefarious activities.
Onyebuchi said: “Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) condemn the criminal attacks on the indigenous people of Oduma in Aninri LGA of Enugu state and her neighboring communities of Nkerefi, Nomeh and Mbulubu in Nkanu East LGA also in Enugu state, by criminal elements terrorising these areas in the name of Biafra agitation.
“The information from Biafra Intelligence Agency (BIA), MASSOB secret security shows that these gangsters operate in a camp within the border line between Nkerefi and Oduma forest called Ngene Awa by Oduma people but called Okobo by Nkerefi people.”
