Masari signs Katsina’s N213bn 2018 budget into law

Katsina state Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has signed the N213bn 2018 budget into law with an assurance to work with the legislative arm for its smooth implementation.

He similarly called on the National Assembly to emulate Katsina by passing the 2018 budget without rancour for the smooth development of the country.
Masari, who commended the legislative arm for early passage of the budget, noted that the content of the estimates will impact positively on the lives of the ordinary people of the state.
“The early passage of the budget was a landmark success, it is commendable and I urge other state and the National Assemblies to emulate the speedy passage of the budget before them.
“Looking back at 2016 and 2017, we believe this budget will add value in the life of the people of Katsina state,” the governor said.
He said within the last two and a half years of his administration, remarkable achievements were recorded in many areas of the economy, agriculture and human development among others
He further assured that his government will continue to ensure open door policy and be ready to accept advice and suggestion to move the state forward.
Earlier, majority leader of state House of Assembly, Hon Hambali Faruk announced an increase of earlier budget presented to the House from N211billion to N213 billion.
Hambali said the increase was to cover request forwarded to the Assembly by relevant ministries during the budget defence.
