MAPOLY commences courses in agric engineering, fisheries

Rector of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Dr Adeola Odedina has said that the management of the institution has concluded plans to offer Agriculture Engineering and Fisheries courses to students, beginning from the 2019/2020 academic session.

Odedina who stated this during the matriculation ceremony of the institution stated that in due time, the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) would visit the polytechnic to inspect the facilities for the take off of the courses.

Over 1,500 newly admitted full-time and part-time students of the Ogun state-owned institution were matriculated.

Those matriculated included, the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students admitted for the 2019/ 2020 academic session.

The rector stated that the matriculation ceremony was the first in three years after the institution went into “extinction and was later rejuvenated”.

The administration of the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun,  took steps to relocate the Polytechnic outside Abeokuta but Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration has rescinded the decision.
