Man kills uncle, cousin in Delta

Pandemonium broke out yesterday in OgwashiUku, Aniocha South local government area of Delta state as one Mr. Jerry Okocha killed his uncle and cousin with machete. The victims are Mike and Iwe Okocha; Mike is the elder brother to Jerry’s father and married. Iwe, a 22-year-old boy, is Mike’s biological son. It was gathered that Jerry was suffering from mental disorder and had attacked domestic animals in the locality before killing his cousins. It was gathered that Iwe was bathing when Jerry appeared with a very sharp machete, while Mike was attacked in his parlour. An eyewitness, who identified himself as Ikechukwu, said besides that there was soap in the body and eyes of Iwe, Mike did not know that Jerry had killed him before coming after him.

“Jerry went first for Iwe who was bathing. When he saw that Iwe was dead, he left him and went after his father. Mike did not know what had happened at the backyard was in the parlour. Before he could jump up, Jerry had applied the machete on him severely,” he said. The machete cut the victims in the head and all over their bodies before he left them in their pool of blood. The source also narrated how Mike’s wife, narrowly escaped being killed by the ‘lunatic.’ “When Mike’s wife who was in another wing of the house saw what had happened, she raised alarm which attracted Jerry who immediately came after her with the machete. But she was fast enough to jump the scene and ran to his first son’s house in the locality.”
