Man kills, buries rival in Kogi

Kogi state police command yesterday paraded a 40-year-old farmer, Abubakar Alfa, for killing his neighbour, Isa Ahmadu, burning and burying him over a dispute arising the deceased allegedly dating his wife.
The state Commissioner of Police, Seidu  Madawaki, who paraded  the suspect before newsmen,  said Alfa killed Isah in a farm land  at Enabo village in Ankpa local government of the  state, burnt the corpse and buried him there in an attempt to cover the crime.
He said the deceased had been having issues with the suspect who he accused of having an affair with his wife, adding that he took policemen to the scene where he buried the deceased who was exhumed and that the suspect would be charged to court.

Alfa, who admitted that he killed the deceased and buried him in his farm after burning the corpse, said it was the deceased who first attacked and matcheted him on his head before he retaliated.
He said: “I was working in a farm when I saw two women passing and talking to themselves. I was busy doing work when Ahmadu came asking why I was talking to his wife. I told him I did not talk to her, but he started cutting me with a machete; he cut me three times before I retaliated and eventually killed him.”

The police command also paraded one Michael Adekeyi and Adebayo Ayobami who defrauded unsuspecting depositors of West World Investment Limited of over N15 million.
Others paraded included one Hassan Omoaghe, for operating local gun manufacturing factory, and one Bashir Ali and Nasair Musa, a school certificate holder, arrested for armed robbery in Lokoja metropolis.
