A 28-year-old man, Emunazor Uzor, has been convicted by a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Suleja, Niger state, without an option, for having carnal knowledge of a six-year-old girl.
Uzor who pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment.
Recounting her experience to our correspondent, mother of the victim, simply identified as Nneka, said the convict had given her daughter N20 before taking her to an abandoned shop where he had carnal knowledge of her.
According to her, the daughter showed the money and said the convict had given it to her and when she demanded what she did to deserve the money she explained that Uzor had asked her to remove her pants and used his manhood to caress her genitals until he ejaculated on her lap.
She said that on inspecting her daughter she noticed the dried sperm on her laps and immediately reported the incident at the police station leading to his arrest and arraignment.
The victim’s mother explained that Uzor had appeared fond of her daughter and unknown to her he had such evil intentions towards her, even as she said that the convict had a reputation of having children around always.
