Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Zonal Publicity Secretary of the Party in North-west, Alhaji Yusuf Adamu Babura, has described Senator Ahmed Makarfi ’s recent Supreme Court victory as the “best chance for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to defeat the All Progressives Congress(APC) in 2019.” Speaking to newsmen in Kano yesterday, Babura said the APC “can be said to be on the precipice of imminent collapse in the face of its myriad of failures and leadership inconsistencies which had abysmally aff ected its chance to remain relevant in the saddle of leadership.” He said it was time Nigerians realised the fact that the change they “have yearned for had never yielded the desired goals in the face of the poverty, hunger and misery.”
He said in an ideal democratic setting the establishment of the basic infrastructure was what was most needed to forge ahead, pointing out that PDP as a strong bastion of opposition had the much-needed clout to give the APC a tough fi ght in 2019. Babura said the issue of fi ghting corruption had been praised to high heavens by those whose hands “cannot be proven to be clean,” adding that even some members of the President Personality cult were not immune to corruption
