Lobi Stars: Alia backs Amokachi despite dismal performance

Daniel Amokachi is still technical adviser of NPFL club Lobi Stars after he received a massive vote of confidence from the Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia.

A close confidant of the former Super Eagles star told SCORENigeria that Amokachi has not quit his position despite rumours to the contrary and that he has got the full backing of the Benue Governor.

“Daniel is still in charge of Lobi Stars,” he said.

“The rumours that he has quit his position are not true.

“Instead he has the full support of the Governor, who has severally appreciated the amount of work he has put into making the state-owned club to get out of the relegation zone.

“Lobi under Amokachi have been playing well, but they just do not have the luck to score goals. Once they do, they will climb out of the relegation zone.”

Lobi Stars are currently 18th in the 20-team championship with 20 points halfway through the NPFL season.

The NPFL season will resume on January 25.
