LGs/LCDAs crisis: Stay away from office, Oyo NULGE directs members

 

As the sacked local government chairmen in Oyo state  threatened to resume in their various offices,  the state chapter of the  Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE), Saturday directed its members to stay away from work as from Monday. 

NULGE president in Oyo state, Comrade BayoTitilola Sodo, handed down the directive after an emergency meeting with the union members in Ibadan.

 “This directive is from the State Executive Council (SEC) which is the highest authority of the union in the state. We just concluded the SEC meeting, we have earlier had the State Administrative Council (SAC) meeting, we reviewed the situation on ground as it unfolded and so far, we follow the outcome from various quarters,” he said.

The Oyo NULGE president stated further that: “We have been getting series of disturbing information from all quarters, but we don’t know its authenticity, and we have reason to be apprehensive for the safety of our members in case they go to work and there is a clash between the two parties.

“Today, we had a meeting in order to safeguard the live of our people and ensure their security. They should keep away  from work until the issue is resolved. We know the exalt person we are working for. No NULGE member in Oyo should be at work by Monday till further notice, and until the unclear situation is cleared and their security and safety is guaranteed.”
