Let your ears, doors be open, Jingir tells Buhari, Lalong

National Chairman Council of Ulama Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has urged the President-elect, Major General Muhammad Buhari (retd), as well as the Governor – elect of Plateau state, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, to run an ear-listening and open-door government of the people.
Sheikh Jingir dared the elected leaders on Wednesday evening at his residence in Jos during a Walima (thanksgiving) in appreciation of the victory of change and for having peaceful elections in the country.

He said the outgoing administrations of both President Goodluck Jonathan and that of Governor Jonah Jang, both of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had not done well for Nigeria and Plateau state; hence the desire by Nigerians and Plateau people to vote in anticipation of the good changes in their lives.

He said: “Allah says Muslims should co-exist with none Muslims in peace. Lalong Allah has made you a reference point at this time, in which both Muslims, Christians and even none adherents of the two have voted you, so you should make sure that your ears and doors are opens to listen to the people.”
In his remarks, an elder statesman, also a chieftain of the APC, Ambassador Yahaya Kwande, said the State Council of Ulama deserved commendations for their Godly work of sensitising the people to elect leaders of credible characters and for conducting selves peacefully.

Commenting at the event, Lalong said his election was the work of God, adding that the PDP had spent a lot of money that they ought to have settled workers salaries with, yet the people defied the inducement of money and voted for change.
