Legislative council passes confidence vote on Ijumu LG chair

The Ijumu local government legislative council in Kogi state has passed a vote of confidence on the chairman of the council, Hon. Taufiq Isa for giving priority to peace and security of the citizenry of the area.

The legislative council in a unanimous decision after a motion moved by the councilor representing Ayetoro/Agirigbon Ward, Hon Korede Pedro, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the chairman since assumption of office, noting that the council boss has been able carry everybody along in the discharge of his responsibilities aimed at peaceful coexistence and even development

.

“We are pledging our total and unalloyed support to Governor Yahaya Bello and Alhaji Taufiq Isa, who have been making our youth proud in terms of empowerment programmes,” Pedro said.

The lawmakers described the purported suspension of the chairman by some officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as baseless.

According to them, Isah as a party man and a founding member of APC has contributed in no small measure to the development of the party at the council and state levels and should be commended instead of being vilified.

Council leader, Yinka Omoshagba, commended the commitment of the chairman to issues of security as well as youth and women empowerment, saying the vote of confidence passed on him was to spur the chairman to do more for his people.

Omoshagba then solicited the support of the legislative council to enable the chairman achieve his lofty goals for Ijumu people.
