Reacting to the recent facebook postings about an agric loan project purportedly floated by him, the senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator T A Orji, has disassociated himself and his office from such scam.
In a recent statement signed by the Senator’s Media Adviser and Legislative Aide, Chief Eddie Onuzuruike, Orji warned the general public to take note.
The statement read in part: “Our projects like the Senator T A Orji Annual Scholarship Scheme for Tertiary Institutions, are coordinated from the constituency office at Umuahia, Abia state.
“This scheme is supervised by a well constituted body of Stakeholders drawn from the six local government areas that make up the Abia Central Senatorial District. Notices of our projects are well publicised on newspapers, television, and radio.
“In a text message to the Senator, a near victim wrote, ‘Good morning Senator T A Orji, (Ochendo Global), I reacted to your Agric Loan post on Facebook. In reply you directed me to Mr. James Okojie, confirm sir.’”
He, therefore, pointed out that the public should be warned as he neither has such a project nor knows any James Okojie with phone No. 08148436566.
He added: “Anybody participating in the purported Agric Loan is doing so at his or her own risk. Scammers are warned to desist from such as it is a criminal offence punishable by laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Power Uti arrested over wife’s death
The Police in Lagos have reportedly arrested Nigerian wrestling champion, Power Uti, over the controversial death of his wife, Toyin.
Toyin was said to have died in their Ilupeju, Lagos home on Monday morning with the wrestling champion discovering her body.
However, instead of taking her to the hospital, Power Uti was alleged to have gone to a church in search of spiritual help.
Police Public Relations Officer, Famous Cole, reportedly confirmed that Power Uti was arrested over the incident and detained at the Ilupeju Police station, adding that he would be transferred to the Criminal Investigative Department, Panti in Lagos on Thursday.
Toyin, 38, until her demise, was a mother of four children who are under the ages of nine. The two were married for 10 years.
Her body had been deposited at the Isolo general hospital, while her four children are with the mother.
