Lawan, Gbenga Daniel, Sankara felicitate Nigerians on Sallah day

Immediate past President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan along with serving and former Senators, have joined in the flurry of goodwill messages to Nigerians on Eid – el – Kabir celebration.

In separately signed goodwill messages, they called on Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice Eid – el – Kabir symbolises just as they enjoined Nigerians to rally round the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Specifically, while Lawan and Danladi Sankara in their separate Sallah messages, rekindled the hope of Nigerians on better days to come in line with renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu, Senator Daniel called on Nigerians to imbibe the values of sacrifice, love, and unity that the festival represents.

Lawan in his message said, ” This year’s Sallah coincides with the take off of a newly elected government and also a new National Assembly. I urge us all to continue to pray and give our full support to the government and others at all levels.

“Steps are being taken by the new administration at the federal level to strengthen the economy, which may come with initial painful effects. We must remain hopeful that we shall soon begin to see the fruits of the measures in every sector of the economy and our general polity.

“The new administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has started on a good footing and I am confident that we are moving in the right direction to our desired destination as a nation.

“President Tinubu needs our prayers and support to deliver on his mandate. I am confident that, with the cooperation and sustained goodwill of all Nigerians, the government will not falter.”

Similarly Senator Danladi Sankara in his message said, “Nigeria is set for progress and sustainable development through the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as fully complement by the Vice President Kashim Shettima.

“The two leaders have the clear understanding of the challenges of Nigeria , and have so far exhibited the capacity to tackle and address them adequately to enhance the living standards of the people.

“What is needed by all Nigerians is patience and full support for the government to be able to accelerate the pace of progress and the desired comprehensive development of Nigeria.”

However, Senator Gbenga Daniel in his own message, emphasised the importance of using Eid – el – Kabir to foster peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths and backgrounds.

He encouraged them to embrace the spirit of compassion and generosity by reaching out to the less privileged and extending a helping hand to those in need during this festive season.

According to him, “Eid Ul Adha is not just a celebration of pomp and pageantry with plenty of meat, rice and stew, it speaks to the significance of sacrifice and trust in the directive of Almighty Allah.

“I join our Muslim brothers and sisters in the celebration of core obedience to His will and urge us all to emulate the dedication of the Prophet, especially as it concerns our country. Barka da Sallah.”
