Lapai LG chair to begin rural electrification project

The executive chairman of Lapai Local Government Area who doubles as Secretary, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, Niger state chapter, Honourable Mu’azu Hamidu Jantabo said administration’s plans to embark on electrification of villages in the Local Government Area.

This was contained in a statement issued by Special Assistant to the Chairman on Media and Strategic Communications, Abdullahi Umar Evuti, Wednesday, in Lapai.

Continuing, the statement read “The administrative goal which he made known in his office while approving the purchase of 500 kv Transformer for State Low Cost area of Lapai township, is to complement the efforts of State and Federal Governments have so far made in the electricity in terms of providing electricity for the people.

“According to him, the needed items to take electricity to most villages in the LG are nothing more than the capacity of the council. “We shall ensure that life is made easier for our people especially those in the villages. We’ll try our best to ensure that items needed to make power available such as transformers are provided”, he said.

“So far, two villages including Ebbo and Pelemi have been identified as possible beneficiaries”.
