Ilorin-west local government council in Kwara state on Wednesday inaugurated a seven-man boundary committee to resolve disputes arising from land matters in the area.
Inaugurating the committee in IIorin, the council chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Zulu-Oloje, charged members to make “prudence, justice, temperance and fortitude” their watchwords.
Zulu-Oloje, who said the Council had never experienced any boundary dispute, charged the committee to discharge their responsibility with the fear of God.
The Council boss urged the committee to relate with relevant government agencies to achieve desired results.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Boundary Matters, Alhaji Umar Ahmed-Gunnu, advised the people of the area to always report land issues to traditional rulers for settlement.
Umar-Gunnu said the act of parliament establishing boundary committee spelt out the procedure for settlement.
