Lamido worried over National Identity Cards registration

PIC.10.-GOVJigawa state Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has expressed concern over complications associated with the on-going registration of the National Identity cards.
Lamido, who stated this immediately after he concluded his registration yesterday at the Government House in Dutse, said the bio-data requested in the registration form are too many and some of the questions are contrary to Nigerians’ culture.

He therefore called on the indigenes of Jigawa state to devote their time and come out en-masse to register to enable them obtain and attain national recognition as true Nigerians.
Lamido said this was his own personal observation, because the process consumes a lot of time, though it may likely go down well with others especially the new generation or the youths.
The governor said: “We from this part of the country, some of these questions are not necessary. How can somebody just ask you, what is the name of your, without courtesy or the name of your grandfather? Why?”

Speaking after registering the governor, the Director of Inspection, Registration and Compliance at the National Identification Commission (NIC), Hajiya Hadiza Ali Dagabana, explained that the exercise would give Nigerians a sense of belonging.
