Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed sadness over the death of three persons in a fatal truck accident in the Aiyetoro area of Epe on Monday.
The governor in a post on X.com, Tuesday, extended his condolences to the families affected by the accident.
He wrote: “I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences in the light of the tragic traffic accident that occurred in the Aiyetoro area of Epe, Lagos State, yesterday, Monday, 11 November 2024.
“Reports indicate that a cement truck suffered brake failure, resulting in the unfortunate loss of lives and injuries sustained.
“With deep sorrow, I extend my sympathies to the families of those affected. I also pray for the departed souls and for the speedy recovery of those injured.
“May the families find solace in the love and support surrounding them, and may the cherished memories of their loved ones bring them some comfort as they navigate their grief.”
The tragedy occurred when a truck conveying bags of cement suffered a brake failure, and claimed at least three lives and left others injured.
The truck, descending from Ita-Opo, reportedly lost its brakes, hitting a commercial tricycle and a stationary Toyota Camry before ramming into the market as reported by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA.
